Audience Member (spoilers? maybe?)a silent voice is an anime film produced by kyoto animation studios and released in 2017. it details a storyline between two elementary school students, a new transfer suffering from hearing problems and a boy who despises boredom. they eventually face each other as both do attend the same classroom, and the boy finds himself bullying the girl as his form of self-entertainment. this eventually causes the class to follow suit, which would eventually sacrifice the boy's relationship with the entire class as a whole when the teacher forces accountability upon the entire class.later on, when both now attend a high school, the boy receives his first hit of guilt as he realises he regrets what he's done and regrets loneliness after the fallout between him and other mates. this leads the boy to try to make amends with the deaf girl, seeking her out and eventually finding her at the same high school.to be quite frank, though anime series have managed to make me tear up before, nothing comes close to matching what this show was emotionally capable of making me feel. though the storyline expressed above may seem quite basic and levelheaded, the way this entire clockwork was executed through the writing is more than just impressive. kyoto managed to turn such a superficial concept into something beauteous both through the animation and the writing. the characters are written quite well (i will make a few exceptions as it seems some background characters' writings fell out of focus), the scenery is done beautifully, and the relationship between the boy and the girl (as well as the redemption done surrounding the boy) was done amazingly. this might have been the best emotional anime so far i have personally ever seen, but i am fairly new to anime anyway.
